Description
Polystichum tsus-simense, the Korean rock fern, is a charming low growing evergreen with a dusky dark green countenance. The rather upright 12 to 15 inch fronds have a prominent contrasting dark stripe up the middle adding interest to the overall appearance. Here is a species that will do well indoors or out and is popular for flower arranging (where it will outlive the flowers). It is closely related to the somewhat taller Polystichum mayebarae and can be grown with it in combo (for your botany class). It is exceptionally garden worthy in Zones 6.
Produced year-round.
