Description
Dryopteris tokyoensis, the Tokyo wood fern, is one very vertical species with clusters of narrow, deciduous, erect dark to more frequently light green lanceolate fronds. It is easily established and looks especially well when grouped to frame and attract attention to special garden features or site it to bring height in the midst of a collection of sprawling darker plants. The height is variable ranging from 18 to 36 inches. This species with its unique habit is welcomed in Zones 5.
